CALL TO ORDER

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

2006 BUDGE= T REVIEW

Board of Adjustment – Mr. Gleason said that there was an increase of 8= .8% increase in the default budget mainly due to salaries. Planning Director Jeff Gowan revie= wed the budget for the Selectmen.

Planning Department - Mr. Glea= son noted that there was a 4% increase in the default budget and an overall increase of 12.7%. Planning D= irector Jeff Gowan reviewed the budget for the Selectmen. There was a request for a twenty-f= our hour per week dedicated code enforcement position to work with the current part-time Code Officer; the positions would be further reviewed next year.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> The hiring for the position would = follow the Hiring Policy and include a public posting of the position.

Planning B= oard - Mr. Gleason said there was a 1.9% increase in the default; the operating budget had a 13% increase. Planning Director Jeff Gowan revie= wed the budget for the Selectmen.

Conservati= on Commission – Mr. Gleason said there was no change between the operating and default budgets; the department request was up by 50%. The rate for clerical support (ver= sus transcription of minutes) will be reviewed further.

Selectmen = – Mr. Gleason said there was an 8% increase from the operation budget to the defa= ult budget. The budget had an ove= rall increase of 19.9% ($58,000). = Mr. Gaydos reviewed the budget with the Selectmen.

Town Build= ings – Mr. Gleason noted that the increase from the default to the operation budget was .6%; the overall increase was 37.9%. Mr. Gaydos reviewed the budget for= the Selectmen.

Retirement= - Mr. Gleason said there was an incre= ase of 25.4% from the operating budget to the default. The increase was due to contractual obligations.

There was a brief discussion regarding the Special Town Meeting and a further review of what would be included on the ballot. Apparently there had been a misconception by some residents regarding the special meeting and the outco= me if approved or disapproved. <= /p>
