CALL TO ORDER – approximately 7:10pm

DISCUSSION= OF POSSIBLE REDUCTIONS THROUGH COST SHARING BETWEEN THE TOWN AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Mr. Conrad said the purpose of the meeting was to begi= n to determine the duplicate services between the Town and the Scho= ol District. Mr. Da= nevich said the Selectmen were hoping to formalize the relationship between the To= wn and the School District and review the operational components for each. Dr.Cutler invited the Selectmen to give their thoughts regarding working cooperatively together. Mr. Gaydos outlined certain areas where the Town and the School currently worked together.

Dr. Cutler announced that = as a first step and with the cooperation of the SAU, the Town had been able to e= nter the SAU pre-buy of heating fuel from Fred Fuller at $1.795, which would represent a sizable savings for the Town in the upcoming year.

Mr. Conrad said he would be in favor of creating a lawn maintenance schedule. Dr. Cut= ler discussed other areas where the Town could work collaboratively with the School such = as with landscaping, purchasing paper, boiler maintenance and parking.

Mr. Tello questioned if electric was an area that coul= d be shared. Mr. Gaydos said unfortunately the electric was a set rate.

Mr. Conrad wanted to know the process to pursue Town land. Mr. Gaydos said land wo= uld have to be reviewed for any encumbrances.&= nbsp; Dr. Cutler discussed what the School Board was reviewing for possible overcrowding solutions at the point of the Town’s full build-out. She said they would be open to the Selectmen’s suggestions, but would also be looking for their support.

Mr. Conrad volunteered to help Mr. Domenico with the communication project being drafted. Mr. Domenico said the ground work for the committee would begin soon.

There was a discussion regarding the government and vo= ting structure of the Town and the need for communication to the residents of such.

Mr. Danevich was hopeful that combining costs could sa= ve the Town and School in several areas. Mr. Danevich also asked the appoin= ted Budget Committee representatives, Ms. Mahoney from the PSB and Mr. Gleason = from the BOS, to investigate any future opportunities that may be identified dur= ing the budget review process. Mr. Conrad thanked the Selectmen for meeting with the School Board. Dr. Cutler felt it was good progress to have the two Boards met every few months.
