The amendments to the minutes were as follows: page 2 – under Waiver of Article K – 6th paragraph – = the words ‘it could not be reconnected’ were added to the end of th= e 4th sentence; the word ‘distribution’ was deleted and replaced by ‘septic tank’ in the following ‘…connection from the septic tank be made..’; under Senior Center budget the following wording was adding ‘…and a request to apply the Nutrition Program revenues back in= to the operational cost since the program has been running at a deficit for the past several years. ‘; = page 3, under $5000 request – the sentence reading ‘…would lik= e to defer payment to January until further clarification.’; was amended to read ‘…would like to defer payment until further clarification’; Mr. Haverty seconded the motion to defer payment. There were also grammatical correc= tions.

BUDGET REVIEW (Finance Director Janet Gallant came forward to
discuss budget requests):
Planning Depa= rtment – Planning Director Jeff Gowan reviewed the Planning Department budget with the Selectmen.
Conservation Commission - Conservation Commission Chairman Paul Gagnon reviewed the Conservation Commission budget. He noted the 2007 bud= get was approximately $8300 the budget request for 2008 was $8240.
Selectmen – Financial Director Janet Gallant reviewed the
Selectmen’s budget.
Fire Departme= nt – Fire Chief Michael Walker and Fire Department Office Manager Maureen McNamara met with the Selectmen to review the 2007 Fire Department = Operation Budget and to explain how the balance of the year would be handled. Chief Walker said he reviewed the figures with Mr. Gaydos and calculated the monthly costs and current burn r= ate. Currently the department expects t= o come in approximately $3600 under budget. Mr. Gleason recommended monitoring the budget closely and informing = the Selectmen if the Chief saw a problem.
Mr. Lynde arrived.
Chief Walker said based on the discussion he would sen= d the specified people to paramedic school and would continue to make every effor= t to continue along the track of following the budget. The Selectmen said they were willi= ng to work with the Chief.
Chief Walker said he wou= ld come at a later date to discuss communications.=
TOWN ADMINISTRATOR / SELECTMEN’S REPORTS
Mr. Viger had no report. He said he would follow up with th= e CIP Chairs to find out when a presentation would be given to the Selectmen.
Mr. Haverty reported that the Fire Station Committee m=
et to
review ten responses to the RFQ sent to architectural firms. After reviewing, the Committee cam=
e up
with three finalists who would be brought in Wednesday evening for
interviews. He said he would =
bring
an architectural firm recommendation (and breakdown of the costs) to the
Selectmen at the
Mr. Danevich, Mr. Lynde = and Mr. Gleason had no report
