Memorial Day Ceremonies

The Pelham VFW and American Legion will conduct our Memorial Day Ceremonies on Monday, May 25 at the following locations starting at 9 AM at Veterans Park. All other times are flexible. 

Any onlookers that wish to participate are asked to follow the current restrictions on public meetings and to maintain social distancing.

(The parade portion is canceled; all other events will take place)

All US flags to be flown at half-mast from midnight till noon on Memorial Day.

9 am: VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK - Ceremony & wreath laying only

9:45: Gionet Bridge - for wreath laying only

10:15: Town Hall KIA Memorial Bench - Wreath Laying Ceremony only

11:00: Gibson Cemetery at flagpole center - for wreath laying only

11:45: Old Village Square Monument for wreath laying only

American Legion post 100 for wreath laying only at flagpole

M/C- Welcome. Due to the restrictions placed on us this year, we are conducting this abbreviated ceremony to honor the fallen so that others will be aware that we are a nation of many heroes who have earned the right to have their sacrifice honored and appreciated.

M/C- the Chaplain will now read the invocation.

Chaplain - Eternal Father, giver and sustainer of life, we come before you in the joy of our faith and in thanksgiving for the sacrifice of these departed heroes. We commend their souls to You. Lord, we ask You to help us honor their memories by serving the living.    Amen

M/C- Scouts and escorts - advance and place the wreaths.
