Students will learn short form Improv games during weeks one through five culminating with a performanceon the sixth week. With audience suggestions, the actors seemlessly (and sometimes not so seemlessly) make stories come to life. It's fun! It's exciting! It's performing without a net! If you've seen "Who's Line Is It Anyway" - that's the type of Improv you will be learning
Instructor - Charlene Ward Charlene was born in a small town in New Hampshire called Pelham (you may have heard of it). She grew up here before the town had all these cool things like a Community Theatre and a Chunky's Cinema...she's kind of old. After graduating with a BFA in Performing Arts from Emerson College in Boston, she moved to Los Angeles to live out her dream. She has performed stand-up comedy, improv, and theatre for many years and has even donned an Elmo costume once or twice to entertain children at birthday parties. She recently directed a one-woman show for Mary Kennedy (Shameless, Showtime) that played to great reviews in Los Angeles and Marblehead, MA. She is spending her summer in New Hampshire and would love to share her love of performing by teaching in her home town.
