Recycling Center / Transfer Station
Welcome to the town of Pelham Transfer Station and Recycling Center website. It is the goal and intent of the Town of Pelham to provide appropriate waste disposal service to the community in an efficient and environmentally safe manner. The Town operates a Transfer/Recycling Facility for this purpose. Use of the Facility is limited to Town of Pelham Residents only. Please take the time to review the Facilities rules and regulations.
Do / Do Not Recycle
- No styrofoam in recycling, please put it in the trash
- All cardboard no larger than 4 by 4
- Our "book bin" at the "transfer station and recycling center" now accepts "DVDs, CDs, video games, and records
- We do not accept anything larger than 40-pound propane tanks
Payment
If anyone is interested, you may pay with a credit card now. Available only Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. If the office is open! There is a 2.79% convenience fee, with a minimum rate of $1.50. We also accept cash or checks made out to "Town of Pelham, NH." Please ask the attendants. Again, the hours of operation may be subject to change.
- How do I get a Transfer Station permit?

To obtain a free transfer Sticker user must be a resident or seasonal camp owner and must present a valid driver's license and registration for the vehicle - a non-resident camp owner must provide a Pelham, NH tax bill. Stickers are available at the Transfer Station or at 33 Newcomb Field Parkway.
- What items are banned at the Transfer Station?

EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2025, Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are banned from incinerators and landfills per New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. Lithium-ion batteries are found in the following items
- Automotive Vehicles, electric Bikes and Scooters
- Cell Phones, Laptops, Tablets, Cameras, Wireless Headphones & Speakers
- Interactive Electronic Devices
- Lawncare equipment & cordless power tools
- Toothbrushes
- Toys
- What Items do we take for composting?

The items that we take for composting are as follows:
- Food, Beverage & Packaging Waste.
- No Glass, Bones or eggshells.
- No Trash or medical items.
