Overview

As a quasi-judicial board, the Zoning Board of Adjustment's (ZBA) primary responsibility is to be fair to applicants, abutters, and the public in applying state law and applicable court decisions to requests for relief from Pelham's Zoning Ordinance. The ZBA determines what is lawful, not necessarily popular, in determining the balance between the constitutional rights of property owners to the reasonable use of their land and the public rights of others. Courtesy and respect for everyone, as well as a full discussion of every case, are required of this board.

Meeting minutes for the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Conservation Commission are kept in accordance with RSA 91-A:4 and RSA 676:3. For more timely information on a specific issue, please refer to the Planning Department. Preliminary (unapproved and subject to change) meeting minutes are available 5 business days after a meeting at the Planning Department.
