Timber Harvest Information

Pelham Forestry Timber Harvest

The Pelham Forestry Committee regularly conducts timber harvests through our Town Forester. As part of forest management, periodic timber harvesting is conducted to enhance the quality and health of the forest through appropriately planned silvicultural treatments. Additionally, timber harvesting protects various non-forest product aspects such as water quality, scenic beauty, and special sites, promotes biological diversity, enhances habitat types, and improves recreational opportunities and access. Timber harvesting is part of improving forest resiliency in today's changing climate.

Forest products from this harvest will provide lumber, paper, and renewable energy to local and regional communities while supporting New Hampshire's forest products industry. Proceeds from the timber harvest are reinvested to improve Pelham's Town Forests for recreation and wildlife conservation.
