Fresh Rescue
Fresh Rescue is brought to you by NH Food Bank, Catholic Charities NH, Feeding America and Peham's Hannaford Supermarket.
We receive fresh food items from Pelham's Hannaford Supermarket, such as cold roasted chicken, produce, deli products, salads, sandwiches, and more on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The food is picked up from Hannaford between 9 to 9:45 am, brought here to the HCC, weighed and then distributed on the shelves and tables in the dining hall. Please do not hover, stand in the pathway of the volunteers or look over the items while the volunteers are trying to load the food onto the shelves, this only delays the process and creates an unsafe situation.
To participate in the initial collection of food in the morning, you must get a colored ticket from the check-in receptionist. This will determine what group you will be in to collect food. You can take no more than 4 packaged items per day, per person (includes food you are picking up for other people). It will be announced when you can come forward to get your food items and turn your ticket in. If you don't need 4 items, don't take them just because you can. We have folks that come in after the initial rush, for food. At 11:15 am, you can come in and take what ever you want with what is left. At 11:30 am, we have a volunteer that takes all remaining food items to be composted.
These items donated by Hannaford are nearing or at their expiration date. It is your responsibility to inspect your food items to make sure they are fit to consume.
The Town of Pelham is not liable for any illnesses, issues or complications brought on by these food items.
Be considerate to those around you and those that come after you.
