Voter's Guide Explanation
Of the 67 full time employees of the town, currently 28 are not enrolled in Social Security or Medicare. This is due to decisions made when participation in these programs was optional. The town is still “grandfathered” in the self funded program and offers no other retirement program to these employees. Adoption of this Article would allow all employees to become eligible for Social Security and Medicare. Additionally, employees who are not already covered by the NH Retirement System (any non Police or Fire personnel) would be eligible to participate in the retirement program.
