Vehicle Registration
Notarized proof of residency is required for 1st time registering vehicles/ read more under motor vehicles. All new motor vehicle transactions, multiple renewal transactions, and certified vital records will stop 15 minutes prior to closing.
Be sure to check your renewal notices carefully. If there is a vehicle you no longer have, make sure you are only mailing in a check for what you have. If you renew online, make sure to check all vehicles that show up and only check off what you wish to renew. RSA 261:151 states No portion of any permit fee once paid shall be repaid to any person… unless the state refuses to register the vehicle.
For your convenience, we accept Visa/Mastercard/American Express, and Discover. There is a 2.99% credit card convenience fee.
Marriage Licenses
Marriage License Applications are by Appointment Only. Please call our office at 603-635-2040 to make an appointment.
Paperwork required:
- Photo IDs (Current Driver's license or Passport)
- Birth Certificates, long form (pocket cards not accepted), original or photocopies (a passport does NOT take the place of a birth certificate)
If your documents are not in English, they must be translated into English and notarized.
If previously married: Certified Divorce decree (Must say Absolute, A Nisi is not accepted) or Death Certificate.
Note: The Marriage license application must be completed at the town clerk's office.
Notary Public Services
$5.00 fee for up to 3 documents and 10.00 for up to 6 documents.
